TanZen is an application that allows students to solve tangram puzzles digitally. This may be good for students who have difficulty places pieces in specific places, as it allows them to complete the same task, with some technological aid.

Language Learning Tool - Scribblenauts

Another interesting tool that would have invaluable interest to language teachers that I was made aware of today is a tool called Scribblenauts. Scribblenauts is a video game that helps students practice their spelling while they are playing.

I was introduced to an awesome application that you can use on your iPad today called ShowMe. Show me states, "Turn your iPad into your personal interactive whiteboard!

Read Write Thinks explains, "The Trading Card tool gives students an alternative way to demonstrate their literacy knowledge and skill when writing about popular culture texts or real world examples.

Mind Map Tool - Popplet

A great tool that is online and free to use is Popplet. It is a mind mapping tool where one student, or several students working together, can map out their thoughts and ideas surrounding a topic.

"Hook" tool - Animoto

"Animoto is a simple-to-use video building tool that creates 30-second videos out of images, video, and music – all for free!

Review Tool - Tellegami

One great tool that I came across during one of my education course this last week was Tellegami. Tellegami is an app, so is meant to be used on a phone or iPad/Android device.

Math Resource - Laura Candler

Laura Candler's website has plenty of amazing math resources for teachers.

Music Lesson Plan Ideas - OMEA

A great resource for all music teachers to be aware of is the Ontario Music Educators Association (OMEA). The OMEA website has plenty of music lesson plans made up that are there and available for teachers to use and tweak to fit into their classroom.
