My TPACK Journey

I have learned plenty of technological knowledge from the experience of creating the eBook.  I gained computer skills, such as how to hyperlink, properly cite, set up wordart, create transitions etc My comfort level has increased plenty during the process of creating my eBook. I have gained many skills that will enable me to use eBook creation tools in my teaching.

Something that I have learned about using the Activity Type, eBook, as an end product of a Project-Based Lesson is that it can be very overwhelming. It not properly explained, student may feel that they do not know what is expected of them, and so may not be successful. I envision using eBooks in my own teaching in a very controlled manner. I think that with proper guidance, and very explicit instruction students will be able to use the eBooks to effectively record and gather knowledge.

The pedagogical strategies I learned about teaching students how to use eBook creation tools are all based in exploratory instruction. By using an open learning environment where the student is provided with a database of information, examples, etc students can work at their own pace at their own level.

You can find my eBook HERE.
